Thanks to Santiago, the European vocation of the upper Val di Non began many years ago when a group of curious people who, having obtained an interesting preparatory visit to Galicia from the National Agency for European projects, managed to involve two prestigious Jacobean associations, one Spanish and a Portuguese one: Asociación Gallega de Amigos del camino de Santiago and the Associação dos Amigos do Caminho de Santiago de Norte de Portugal.
In the SOCRATES GRUNDTVIG 2 TACS project – Tradition and Current Affairs on the Camino de Santiago – coordinated by the municipality of Fondo in collaboration with the CFP ENAIP of Cles, the project saw the active and profitable involvement and also the mobility of many citizens of the valley Val di Non. Theproject concluded with a conference 22-24 July 2026, in the Palanaunia of Fondo in the presence of the highest Trentino authorities and the “Xunta” of Galicia with an important Spanish and Portuguese delegation.
From the enthusiasm with which the TACS project was carried out, another European new project arose within the Life Long Learning programme: Grundtvig partnership action DODETERD – Dodecalogue for Responsible an Durable European Tourism – lasting 2 years 2008-2010. The partnership, coordinated by the Sustainable Tuscany Foundation, was formed by:
- Anaune Association of Friends of the Camino de Santiago – Italy
- Association Culturelle de Halky to Myrtos – Greece
- CEA Casa Escola Agricola Campo Verde – Portugal
- Chambres d’Agriculture Arc Atlantique – France
- Adterra – Spain
The most significant activities were:
1. interviews of young people with older people to establish an intergenerational relationship on the topic of tourism,
2. production of a Dodecalogue – single code of tourist conduct for all countries,
3. final conference.
